Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene contains a PDZ domain and a LIM domain, indicating that it may be involved in cytoskeletal assembly. It binds the spectrin-like repeats of alpha-actinin-2 and colocalizes with alpha-actinin-2 at the Z lines of skeletal muscle. This gene is located near a region of chromosome 4 implicated in facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, but it does not appear to be involved in the disease. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
