Target Information
This gene belongs to a family encoding gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase enzymes. The enzyme consists of heavy and light chains and hydrolyzes the gamma-glutamyl moiety of glutathione. It converts leukotriene C4 to leukotriene D4 but does not convert synthetic substrates commonly used for gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase assays. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
