This antibody detects endogenous levels of CDK5 only when phosphorylated at Tyrosine 15.
Target Information
CDK5 is a member of the Cyclin-Dependent Kinase family, most abundant in the mammalian brain. The active form of CDK5, also known as neuronal cdc2-like kinase, is a heterodimer of CDK5 and a 25 kDa protein derived from a 35 kDa brain- and neuron-specific protein, essential for CDK5 kinase activity.
CDK5 plays a crucial role in neuronal migration during central nervous system development and phosphorylates various substrates, regulating processes such as adhesion, motility, synaptic plasticity, and drug addiction.
