Target Information
The WNT gene family consists of structurally related genes encoding secreted signaling proteins. These proteins are involved in oncogenesis and several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis.
WNT10A is strongly expressed in cell lines of promyelocytic leukemia and Burkitt’s lymphoma, and coexpressed with WNT6 in colorectal cancer cell lines. Overexpression may play key roles in carcinogenesis through activation of the WNT–beta-catenin–TCF signaling pathway.
WNT10A and WNT6 genes are clustered in the chromosome 2q35 region.
