This D8SEE monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD194 (CCR4), also known as C-C Chemokine Receptor 4, a G protein-coupled receptor with seven transmembrane domains. Its ligands, CCL17 (TARC) and CCL22 (MDC), direct migration of target cells and are critical for T cell recruitment into the skin. CCR4 is expressed in Th2, Th17, Treg, and Th1 subsets, but not in naive T cells. It is also found in activated NK cells, platelets, monocytes, and basophils.

Target Information

CCR4 is a chemokine receptor preferentially expressed on Th2-type cells. Expression of CCR4 and CCR8 is transiently increased after TCR and CD28 engagement. Activated Th1 cells also up-regulate CCR4 expression. Chemokines are small (8–14 kDa) molecules that regulate leukocyte trafficking via 7-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptors. They play key roles in immune system homeostasis, CNS function, and angiogenesis regulation. Chemokines are divided into CXC and CC subfamilies based on cysteine residue arrangement.
