Classical swine fever (CSF) is an acute and highly contagious disease in swine, causing significant economic losses in the swine industry. It leads to disseminated hemorrhage in systemic organs and tissues, as well as degeneration and necrosis in small vascular and capillary endothelial cells.
Classical swine fever virus (CSFV) belongs to the genus Pestivirus, family Flaviviridae. The genome length is approximately 12.3 Kb, containing a large ORF that encodes 11 structural and nonstructural proteins.
