- Detects endogenous PRRX2 protein (~27 kDa).
- Purity >95% by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The paired-class homeobox genes PRX1 and PRX2 are essential for craniofacial and limb development, expressed in cranial mesenchyme, limb buds, axial mesoderm, and branchial arches.
PRX1 is expressed in endocardial cushions, semilunar and atrioventricular valves, while PRX2 is initially expressed diffusely in myocardium and later in the ventricular septum.
PRX2 is not expressed in the brain, whereas PRX1 is present in the ventral hypothalamus and telencephalon.
Mice lacking PRX1 show skeletal defects; PRX2 single mutants do not, but PRX1/PRX2 double mutants show additional abnormalities.
PRX gene expression is induced in vascular disease and co-localizes with Tenascin-C expression.
