IL-1β는 염증성 사이토카인으로, 대식세포, NK 세포, 단핵구, 호중구 등 다양한 세포에서 발현됩니다. IL-1 패밀리 군에 속하며, Prostaglandin E2 유도, 콜라게나아제 방출, 연골 및 골조직 파괴와 관련된 활성을 가집니다.

Target Information
Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β)는 단핵구, 대식세포, 수지상세포에서 발현되는 염증성 사이토카인입니다.
IL-1β는 31 kDa의 비활성 전구체 형태로 세포질에 축적되며, inflammasome의 활성화에 의해 17 kDa의 활성형으로 절단됩니다.
활성화된 caspase-1이 pro-IL-1β를 절단하여 활성형으로 전환하며, IL-1β는 전통적인 분비 경로가 아닌 대체 경로를 통해 분비됩니다.
IL-1β는 IL-1RI 및 IL-1RII 수용체를 통해 신호를 전달하며, IL-1RA에 의해 경쟁적으로 억제될 수 있습니다.
염증 반응 및 선천 면역 방어에서 중요한 역할을 하며, 만성 염증 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
