Product Specific Information

• Description: Monoclonal rat IgG2a kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.
• Applications Reported: Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
• Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes and normal human peripheral blood cells. Use at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.
• Fluorochrome Information: Brilliant Violet™ 711 (BV711) is a tandem dye emitting at 713 nm, designed for cytometers with a violet (405 nm) laser. Ensure instrument compatibility.

Buffer Recommendations:
When using multiple polymer dyes (Super Bright, Brilliant Violet™, Brilliant Ultra Violet™), use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and stained samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.
Not compatible with methanol-based fixation.

Target Information

Rat IgG2a is an immunoglobulin subclass commonly used in research and diagnostics. It activates complement and mediates ADCC, with a molecular weight of approximately 160 kDa (two heavy and two light chains). Frequently used as a control or reference antibody in rat model experiments, and in flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.
