Product Specific Information
- 1 µg/mL of MA5-45514 was sufficient for detection of VGLUT3 in 20 µg of CV-1 fibroblast cells (lysate) transfected with VGLUT3 by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
- Detects approximately 65 kDa.
- This antibody was formerly sold as clone S34-34.
Target Information
Glucose is fundamental to the metabolism of mammalian cells. Several glucose transporter protein (Glut) isoforms have been identified and shown to function in response to insulin and IGF-1 induced signaling.
GLUT-3 is detectable in a few normal cell types such as spermatids in testis with active spermatogenesis, placental trophoblast membranes, and neurons in the brain. GLUT-3 staining is also detectable in human cancers including those of the ovary, lung, and testis.
