Product Specific Information

  • Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature (RT).
  • For formalin-fixed tissues, heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at RT for 20 minutes.

Target Information

G-CSF (Granulocyte-Colony Stimulating Factor) is a cytokine that promotes the production and antibacterial activity of neutrophils and monocytes.
Human G-CSF is an 18.8 kDa protein with 175 amino acids. It is produced by activated monocytes, macrophages, endothelial cells, fibroblasts, astrocytes, osteoblasts, and bone marrow cells.
G-CSF influences proliferation, differentiation, and activation of hematopoietic cells and is expressed in certain carcinoma and leukemia cells.
It is encoded by two DNA sequences, resulting in high- and low-activity isoforms. The protein is conserved among species and interacts with its receptor on hematopoietic progenitors and neutrophilic granulocytes.
Clinically, G-CSF is used in treatments for neonatal infections, acute myocardial infarction, neutropenia, severe infections, sepsis, autoimmune neutropenia, acute myeloid leukemia, Sweet’s syndrome, and AIDS.
It also serves as a marker for certain carcinomas and is linked to Kostmann Syndrome.
