MA1-40275 detects CNF1 from E. coli samples.
It has been successfully used in ELISA, functional assays, and Western blot applications.
The immunogen is the C-terminus of CNF1.
Endotoxin level: <24 EU/mg.

Target Information

Cytotoxic necrotizing factor type 1 and 2 (CNF1 & CNF2) are bacterial toxins targeting small GTP-binding Rho proteins that regulate the actin cytoskeleton.
Unlike other toxins that inactivate Rho, CNF1 and CNF2 activate Rho by deamidation.
CNF1 is commonly associated with E. coli strains causing extraintestinal infections in humans, particularly urinary tract infections such as cystitis, pyelonephritis, and prostatitis.
In uropathogenic E. coli, CNF1 is chromosomally encoded and located on a pathogenicity island containing hemolysin and P fimbria-related genes.
CNF1 and CNF2 are monomeric, cytoplasmic toxins (~115 kDa) with three functional domains—N-terminal, central, and C-terminal—the latter exhibiting catalytic activity.
