Target Information
PAX 유전자군은 배아 발생 초기 특정 조직에서 활성화되는 전사인자(transcription factor) 계열입니다. Pax 단백질은 DNA 결합 영역을 가지며, 유전자 발현 프로그램을 조절합니다.
PAX2는 신장 발달 과정에서 중요한 역할을 하며, 미성숙 신장 상피세포에서 높은 발현을 보입니다. Wilms 종양에서 PAX2의 지속적 발현은 분화되지 않은 상피세포의 증식과 관련이 있습니다.
WT1 종양 억제 단백질은 PAX2의 발현 억제와 연관되어 있습니다.
