Product Specific Information

Description:
The B20.1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse T-cell receptor (TCR) V alpha 2 chains. It recognizes the majority of the TCR V alpha 2 subfamily in mice carrying the a, b, and c haplotypes and also reacts with V delta 8 products due to high homology.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometry using mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.125 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration is advised for best assay performance.

Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and stained samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Target Information

T-cell receptors (TCR) discriminate foreign from self-peptides presented by MHC class II molecules, essential for adaptive immune response. Recognition of self-peptides is linked to autoimmune diseases and tumor-associated mutant peptides. Superantigen engagement can lead to toxic shock syndrome. Autoantibodies to V beta TCR segments are found in RA and SLE patients, potentially modulating immune activity. Most human T cells express TCR alpha-beta with CD4 or CD8, while gamma-delta T cells are found in epithelia with distinct antigen recognition and immunoregulatory roles.
