Target Information
The GPR30 gene encodes a multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. It localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and binds estrogen, leading to intracellular calcium mobilization and synthesis of phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate in the nucleus. This protein mediates rapid nongenomic estrogen signaling events observed in various cells and tissues. Alternate splice variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
