Target Information
Annexin I belongs to a family of Ca²⁺-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins that are preferentially located on the cytosolic face of the plasma membrane. Annexin I has a molecular mass of approximately 40 kDa and exhibits phospholipase A2 inhibitory activity. Since phospholipase A2 is required for the biosynthesis of potent mediators of inflammation such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes, Annexin I may have potential anti-inflammatory activity.
