Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene shows strong similarity to Saccharomyces cerevisiae Cdc45, an essential protein required for the initiation of DNA replication. Cdc45 is part of a conserved multiprotein complex including Cdc6/Cdc18, MCM proteins, and DNA polymerase, which are crucial for early DNA replication steps in eukaryotes. It interacts with MCM7 and DNA polymerase alpha and may play a role in loading DNA polymerase alpha onto chromatin. Multiple polyadenylation sites have been reported for this gene.
