Human serum albumin (HSA)은 인간 혈장 내 가장 풍부한 단백질로, 약 20일의 혈청 반감기를 갖습니다.
Albumin은 스테로이드, 지방산, 갑상선 호르몬 등의 운반체 역할을 하며, 세포외액 부피 안정화에 기여합니다.
간에서 pre-pro-albumin 형태로 합성되어 N-말단 펩타이드가 제거된 후 분비됩니다.
Albumin은 물, Ca²⁺, Na⁺, K⁺, 지방산, 호르몬, 빌리루빈, 약물 등에 대한 높은 결합 능력을 가지며, 혈액의 교질 삼투압 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
