Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of RET only when phosphorylated at Tyr905.
Target Information
The receptor tyrosine kinase RET is a member of the cadherin superfamily and plays a crucial role in neural crest development. RET can undergo oncogenic activation by cytogenetic rearrangement and transduces signals for cell growth and differentiation.
Mutations in the RET gene are associated with multiple endocrine neoplasia type IIA and IIB, Hirschsprung disease, and medullary thyroid carcinoma. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified, though additional variants with unconfirmed biological validity have been described.
