Target Information
SNX2 and SNX4 share a high degree of amino acid similarity with SNX1, as they all contain a characteristic phox homology (PX) domain. These proteins are partially associated with cellular membranes and interact with EGF, PDGF, and insulin receptor tyrosine kinases. Sorting nexins are widely expressed with distinct tissue distribution patterns and can form multisubunit complexes with other cellular proteins. SNX3 represents a distinct subgroup with lower sequence similarity outside the PX domain and different receptor binding affinities.
