Target Information
NTRK1 (TrkA) is a neurotrophic receptor involved in the development and maintenance of the mammalian nervous system. Upon neurotrophin binding, TrkA phosphorylates itself and activates MAPK pathway members, leading to cell differentiation.
Mutations in TrkA are associated with congenital insensitivity to pain, anhidrosis, self-mutilating behavior, mental retardation, and cancer.
