This antibody reacts with dog IgG and not with the dog IgG Fab fragment as determined by IEP and ELISA techniques. This antibody may cross-react with IgG from other species.

Target Information

Anti-Canine secondary antibodies are affinity-purified antibodies with well-characterized specificity for canine (dog) immunoglobulins. They are useful for detection, sorting, or purification of their specific targets. Secondary antibodies offer increased versatility by enabling the use of various detection systems (e.g., HRP, AP, fluorescence) and provide greater sensitivity through signal amplification, as multiple secondary antibodies can bind to a single primary antibody.

Most commonly, secondary antibodies are generated by immunizing the host animal with pooled immunoglobulins from the target species. They may be further purified and modified (e.g., immunoaffinity chromatography, antibody fragmentation, label conjugation) to produce highly specific reagents.
