Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with human based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with BLM pT122 from other species has not been determined.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid binding proteins, involved in membrane-related events such as exocytosis and endocytosis.
Annexin 5 functions as a phospholipase A2 and protein kinase C inhibitory protein with calcium channel activity and plays a role in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth, and differentiation.
It is also known as placental anticoagulant protein I, vascular anticoagulant-alpha, endonexin II, lipocortin V, placental protein 4, and anchorin CII.
The gene spans 29 kb containing 13 exons, encoding a transcript of approximately 1.6 kb and a protein of about 35 kDa.
