Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat IL-1β. Anti-Rat IL-1β-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Rat IL-1β matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat IL-1β by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. In conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Rat IL-1β (500-P80Bt) as a detection antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat IL-1β.

Western Blot:
To detect Rat IL-1β by Western Blot analysis, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat IL-1β is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is synthesized as a 31 kDa inactive pro-form that accumulates in the cytosol and is cleaved into an active 17 kDa protein through inflammasome activation. IL-1β signals through IL-1RI and IL-1RII receptors, shared with IL-1α, and its activity is regulated by IL-1RA. Elevated IL-1β levels are associated with various chronic inflammatory conditions, and neutralizing antibodies hold therapeutic potential.
