Target Information
PLSCR1 (Phospholipid Scramblase 1) is a calcium-dependent plasma membrane protein that facilitates transbilayer movement of phosphatidylserine and other phospholipids following cytosolic calcium influx. This process remodels plasma membrane phospholipids and exposes phosphatidylserine on the surface of apoptotic or injured cells, leading to cell death. PLSCR1 expression is induced by interferons and cytokines, suggesting a role in cytokine signaling pathways. EGF stimulation causes tyrosine phosphorylation at residues 69 and 74, enabling interaction with Shc and linking Src kinase activation to EGF receptor signaling.
