Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
MaxiK channels are large conductance, voltage- and calcium-sensitive potassium channels that play a key role in controlling smooth muscle tone and neuronal excitability. These channels are composed of two subunits: the pore-forming alpha subunit and the modulatory beta subunit. The protein encoded by the KCNMB2 gene is an auxiliary beta subunit that decreases the activation time of MaxiK alpha subunit currents. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, with additional variants discussed in the literature though their full-length sequences are not fully described.
