Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Type I collagen is a fibrillar collagen found in most connective tissues and is the only collagen component in cartilage.
Mutations in the COL5A3 gene are associated with osteogenesis imperfecta, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and idiopathic osteoporosis.
Reciprocal translocations between chromosomes 17 and 22, involving this gene and the platelet-derived growth factor beta gene, are linked to dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, a skin tumor resulting from unregulated growth factor expression.
Two transcripts have been identified, resulting from alternate polyadenylation signals.
