Target Information
This gene represents a member of the frizzled gene family, which encodes 7-transmembrane domain proteins acting as receptors for Wnt signaling proteins.
The encoded protein contains a signal peptide, a cysteine-rich extracellular domain, and seven transmembrane domains but lacks a C-terminal PDZ-binding motif.
It functions as a negative regulator of the canonical Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway, inhibiting oncogenic transformation, cell proliferation, and apoptosis suppression.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
