Target Information
PAK4 is a serine/threonine p21-activating kinase involved in actin cytoskeleton reorganization and filopodia formation. It belongs to the second group of PAKs (PAK4, 5, and 6), which are not activated by Cdc42/Rac binding. PAK4 acts as an effector of Cdc42Hs, promoting actin polymerization and filopodia induction. It is essential for embryonic viability, neuronal development, and has been implicated in tumor cell growth and cancer prosurvival pathways.
