Target Information
NTRK1 (TRKA) is a member of the neurotrophic factor receptor family, essential for the development and maintenance of the mammalian nervous system.
TrkA is a membrane-bound receptor that autophosphorylates and activates MAPK pathway members upon neurotrophin binding, leading to cell differentiation and sensory neuron specification.
Mutations in TrkA are associated with congenital insensitivity to pain, anhidrosis, self-mutilating behavior, mental retardation, and cancer.
