Target Information
Cadherin-11 (CDH11)은 칼슘 의존적 세포 간 부착을 매개하는 cadherin 초가족의 type II classical cadherin에 속하는 단백질입니다. Cadherin은 단일 막관통형 단백질로, 다수의 extracellular cadherin (EC) 도메인을 가지며, type I과 type II로 구분됩니다. Type II cadherin에는 human cadherin-5, -6, -8, -11, -12가 포함됩니다.
Cadherin-11(OB-Cadherin)은 mesenchyme의 느슨하게 결합된 세포에서 강하게 발현되며, 뇌, 척수, 골수, 골세포 등에서 높은 발현이 관찰됩니다. 또한 인간 자궁 내막 상피 및 간질 세포에서 조절되며, 골아세포 분화 과정에서 발현이 증가하여 골 발달 및 유지에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
변이형 Cadherin-11 유전자는 비정상적인 세포질 도메인을 가진 단백질을 암호화하며, 대체 스플라이싱에 의해 생성됩니다. Cadherin-11 mRNA 및 단백질은 대부분의 침습성 유방암 세포주에서 발현되지만 비침습성 세포주에서는 발현되지 않아, 침습성 종양 아형의 마커로 제시되고 있습니다.
