Target Information
TRIB1 (also known as gprotein coupled receptor induced, skip1, gig2, c8fwATP) functions in protein binding, protein kinase inhibitor activity, and protein serine/threonine kinase activities. Overexpression of TRIB1 in HeLa cells represses IL8 promoter activity by inhibiting AP1. It also inhibits oncogenic Ras-driven and MEKK1-mediated AP1 activation, while enhancing ERK activation. MEK1 interacts with both TRIB1 and TRIB3, and MKK4 interacts specifically with TRIB1, stabilizing TRIB1 through TRIB-MAPKK interaction.
