Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Lens proteins are composed primarily of crystallins (~95%), which are also found in vertebrate skeletal muscle.
Crystallins maintain the lens refractive index and include three major classes: alpha, beta, and gamma.
Alpha-crystallin, the largest class, consists of alpha-A and alpha-B subunits.
Alpha-B crystallin plays a chaperone-like role, preventing aggregate formation that could lead to cataracts.
Phosphorylation of alpha-crystallin occurs in response to cellular stress and may contribute to structural control and protein maintenance.
Alpha-B crystallin accumulation is associated with Alexander’s disease.
