Product Specific Information

MA1-13041 detects ERK1 from human, mouse, and monkey samples.
This antibody does not cross-react with ERK2.

It has been successfully used in Western blot, ChIP, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects a 44 kDa protein corresponding to ERK1.

The antigen is a recombinant protein corresponding to the full-length sequence of human ERK1.

Target Information

MAPK3 (ERK1) is a serine/threonine kinase that activates p90, RSK, MSK, ELK1, and Stat3, and is involved in the MAPK pathway.
ERK1 is widely expressed and regulates meiosis, mitosis, and post-mitotic functions in differentiated cells.

Various stimuli such as growth factors, cytokines, viral infection, and ligands for G protein-coupled receptors activate ERK1/ERK2 pathways.
Functionally, ERK1 participates in signaling cascades that control proliferation, differentiation, and cell cycle progression.
Activated ERK1 translocates to the nucleus to phosphorylate nuclear targets.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms of ERK1 have been described.
