Target Information
GRAMD4, also known as Death Inducing Protein, is a 578 amino acid protein containing one GRAM domain. It is a multi-pass membrane protein localized to the mitochondrial membrane. Overexpression of GRAMD4 induces a strong apoptotic response through caspase-3 activation and PARP cleavage. GRAMD4 is expressed in lung tissue and primary lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), showing up-regulation in mitochondria by E2F-1 after 4-hydroxytamoxifen treatment. This suggests GRAMD4 may serve as a potential target for cancer therapies.
