The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Target Information

Na⁺/H⁺ exchangers (NHE) are plasma membrane intrinsic proteins mediating exchange of Na⁺ and H⁺ ions across various tissues. These exchangers regulate intracellular pH (pHi), trans-cellular Na⁺ absorption, cell volume, and may influence cell proliferation. Dysregulation of NHE activity has been associated with hypertension, organ hypertrophy, cancer regression, and renal or intestinal disorders.

At least seven NHE isoforms (NHE1–7) have been cloned, sharing similar primary structures and predicted to have 10–12 transmembrane domains. The C-terminal domain is intracellular. NHE7 (human, 725 amino acids, chromosome Xp11.4) is ubiquitously expressed and localizes mainly to the trans-Golgi network. NHE7 mediates Na⁺ or K⁺ influx in exchange for H⁺ and shows ~70% similarity to NHE6 but only ~25% homology with other isoforms.
