Dishevelled DVL2는 dishevelled (dsh) 단백질 패밀리의 구성원으로, 척추동물의 dsh 단백질은 초파리 dsh와 약 40%의 아미노산 서열 유사성을 보입니다. 이 유전자는 90-kD 단백질을 암호화하며, 번역 후 인산화를 거쳐 95-kD 세포질 단백질을 형성합니다. 이는 여러 Wnt 단백질에 의해 매개되는 신호전달 경로에서 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 추정되며, Wnt 신호전달에서의 기능은 다양한 동물종에서 보존된 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
