이 단백질들은 NAD를 대사하며, 일부는 mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase 활성을 가질 수 있습니다.
Sirtuins의 효소 기능은 완전히 밝혀지지 않았으나, 최근 연구에서 NAD 의존적 탈아세틸화 및 Sir2-NAD 상호작용이 보고되었습니다.
