Target Information
MUC1 (Mucin 1, Episialin, MAM-6, CA 15-3, PEM, EMA)는 대부분의 선상 및 관상 상피세포와 일부 조혈세포 계통에서 발현되는 대형 세포 표면 mucin 당단백질입니다.
MUC1은 막관통형 glycoprotein으로, 여러 proteolysis 중간체를 거쳐 성숙하며, 다수의 O-linked glycans가 부착되어 높은 sialylation을 보입니다.
MUC1은 고도로 다형성이며, 각 allele은 반복 수(30~90)가 다른 단백질을 생성하여 분자량 차이를 유발합니다.
90% 이상의 유방암 및 전이암에서 풍부하게 발현되며, lactating gland에서 erbB1(EGFR)과 공존하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
MUC1 유전자는 7개의 exon을 가지며, 다양한 alternative splicing 변형체를 생성합니다. 과발현, 비정상적인 세포 내 위치 변화, glycosylation의 변화는 암종과 관련이 있습니다.
