Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).


Target Information

MUC1 (Mucin 1, also known as Episialin, MAM-6, CA 15-3, PEM, and EMA) is a large cell surface mucin glycoprotein expressed by most glandular and ductal epithelial cells and some hematopoietic cell lineages.
It is a transmembrane glycoprotein with a large extracellular domain containing numerous O-linked glycans that are heavily sialylated.
MUC1 is highly polymorphic, with alleles encoding products containing 30–90 tandem repeats, leading to molecular weight variations.
It is abundantly expressed in over 90% of breast carcinomas and metastases.
Overexpression, aberrant intracellular localization, and altered glycosylation of MUC1 are associated with various carcinomas.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, though only some full-length forms have been characterized.
