Product Specific Information

The IM7 monoclonal antibody reacts with all isoforms of mouse CD44 (Pgp-1). CD44 is expressed by hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells. Bone marrow myeloid cells and memory T cells highly express this antigen, and peripheral B and T cells can upregulate CD44 expression. CD44 functions as an adhesion molecule through its binding to hyaluronate, an extracellular matrix component.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤1.0 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.

Fluorochrome Information:
Brilliant Violet™ 711 (BV711) emits at 713 nm, suitable for use with a 405 nm violet laser. Ensure instrument compatibility.

Target Information

CD44 is a 100 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on human leukocytes, brain white matter, and epithelial cells. It serves as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA), mediating cell-cell interactions, adhesion, and migration. CD44 is involved in lymphocyte activation, recirculation, and homing. Expression may increase in certain carcinomas, potentially linked to metastasis. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, contributing to functional diversity. CD44 dysfunction is associated with diseases such as superficial keratitis and lichen sclerosus.
