Target Information
Fibronectin is a disulfide-bonded dimer (230–250 kDa) found in extracellular matrix and plasma. It forms high molecular mass polymers through interchain disulfide bonds and plays a key role in cell adhesion and migration, including embryogenesis, wound healing, blood coagulation, host defense, and metastasis.
Fibronectin expression increases in non-small cell lung carcinoma, enhancing tumorigenicity and resistance to apoptosis. The gene undergoes alternative splicing, potentially generating up to 20 transcript variants, though some full-length variants remain undetermined.
