This antibody detects endogenous levels of total GTF3C3 protein.
Target Information
RNA polymerase III synthesizes tRNA, 5S rRNA, 7SL RNA, and U6 snRNA, and is overexpressed in many transformed cell lines and tumors. The TFIIIC2 complex, composed of TFIIIC220, TFIIIC110, TFIIIC102, TFIIIC90, and TFIIIC63, recruits RNA polymerase III and TFIIIB to promoter elements and may play a key role in malignant cell deregulation. TFIIIB includes TBP, BRF1, and TFIIIB subunits, which are also upregulated in transformed cells. In many carcinomas, RB and p53 tumor suppressors are inactivated, affecting their ability to regulate TFIIIB function.
