Target Information
The DUSP5 gene encodes a dual specificity protein phosphatase that dephosphorylates both phosphoserine/threonine and phosphotyrosine residues, thereby inactivating target kinases. It negatively regulates members of the MAP kinase superfamily involved in cellular proliferation and differentiation. DUSP5 shows distinct substrate specificity, tissue distribution, and subcellular localization. It inactivates ERK1, is highly expressed in pancreas and brain, and is localized in the nucleus.
