This antibody detects endogenous levels of total HLA-G.

Target Information

HLA-G belongs to the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues. This class I molecule is a heterodimer consisting of a heavy chain and a light chain (beta-2 microglobulin).
The heavy chain is anchored in the membrane and is approximately 45 kDa. The gene contains 8 exons:

• Exon 1 encodes the leader peptide
• Exons 2 and 3 encode the α1 and α2 domains (peptide-binding)
• Exon 4 encodes the α3 domain
• Exon 5 encodes the transmembrane region
• Exon 6 encodes the cytoplasmic tail

HLA-G is expressed on fetal-derived placental cells.
HLA and MHC antibodies are important tools in immunopeptidomics, enabling identification and characterization of neoantigens via high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry.
