Target Information
The SEMA3A gene encodes a member of the semaphorin family containing Ig-like C2-type, PSI, and Sema domains. This secreted protein functions as both a chemorepulsive and chemoattractive agent, essential for normal neuronal pattern development.
Elevated SEMA3A expression has been linked to schizophrenia and various human tumor cell lines. Abnormal secretion of this protein is also associated with Alzheimer’s disease progression.
