Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1) is a secreted ligand for Tie-2, a receptor tyrosine kinase expressed in endothelial and hematopoietic cells. Ang-1 mediates blood vessel maturation and may be involved in endothelial development.
Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) acts as a natural antagonist of Ang-1 activation of Tie-2 and is expressed at sites of vascular remodeling.
Angiopoietin-3 (Ang-3) and Angiopoietin-4 (Ang-4) represent the mouse and human counterparts of the same gene locus. Their structural divergence leads to different functions: Ang-3 acts as an antagonist, while Ang-4 functions as an agonist. Both share structural characteristics with Ang-1 and Ang-2, including the signal peptide, N-terminal region, coiled-coil segment, and fibrinogen-like domain.
