• Reconstitution:
  Centrifuge the vial briefly before opening to bring the contents to the bottom.
  Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in deionized water to 0.1–1.0 mg/mL to regain full activity.
  Apportion the reconstituted protein into working aliquots and store at ≤ -20°C.
  Make further dilutions in low endotoxin medium or buffered solution containing FBS or tissue culture grade BSA.

• Storage:
  Store the lyophilized protein at 2–8°C or -20°C for long-term storage, preferably desiccated.
  Upon reconstitution, apportion into working aliquots and store at ≤ -20°C.
  Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Target Information

Interleukin 3 (IL-3), also called Mast Cell Growth Factor (MCGF), Multi-Colony Stimulating Factor (multi-CSF), or Eosinophil-CSF (E-CSF), is produced by activated T cells, mast cells, and eosinophils.
IL-3 is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates colony formation of erythroid, megakaryocyte, neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, mast cell, and monocytic lineages.
Most functions are enhanced or co-stimulated with other cytokines.
Human and mouse IL-3 share only 29% sequence identity, and bioactivity is highly species-specific — human IL-3 shows no activity on mouse cells.
IL-3 supports proliferation of a broad range of hematopoietic cell types and is involved in cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis.
It also exhibits neurotrophic activity and may be associated with neurologic disorders.
