Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Cytokeratins (CK) are intermediate filaments found in epithelial cells, both keratinizing (e.g., skin) and non-keratinizing (e.g., mesothelial) tissues.
There are at least 20 distinct CKs, categorized into two classes:
- Type I (acidic polypeptides)
- Type II (basic polypeptides)
Keratin 14 (KRT14), a type I keratin, pairs with keratin 5 and is characteristic of stratified epithelial cells. It serves as a useful marker for identifying squamous cell carcinomas and is considered a prognostic marker in breast carcinoma.
