Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C, protected from light, for up to 1 week.
For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Centrifuge antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

Ionotropic receptor with a probable role in the modulation of auditory stimuli.
Agonist binding may induce extensive conformational changes affecting all subunits, leading to opening of an ion-conducting channel across the plasma membrane.
The channel is permeable to divalent cations including calcium, whose influx may activate a potassium current that hyperpolarizes the cell membrane.
In the ear, this may reduce basilar membrane motion, alter auditory nerve fiber activity, and narrow dynamic hearing range, potentially protecting against acoustic trauma.
